Narcissistic Parents - Some Don't Want To Spend Time With Their Kids

4 comments:

  1. I am so happy to know that I am not alone. I finally have a name for what this is. I am an only child and have felt so alone for so long. Both of my parents are narcissists and they have been married for nearly 50 years. This has been a long and horrible road.

  2. Hi Laurel, You are definitely NOT alone! My heart goes out to you. It is such a relief to finally have the answer! It's like a weight is being lifted off your shoulders.

WOW! Both parents is really tough! They are still together?... wow! That is surprising.

If you are interested, I also have a facebook page called, Narcissistic Parent Answers. It has over 9,000 followers. (lots of support) If you have questions, you can message me there as well. :-)

    1. Thank you Tina. Especially for the super quick response. Tears in my eyes now. And yes, they are still together. They feed off each other. That part I have known since I was a child. Thank you again for sharing your insight. And I will find your page and continue reading and learning and working on getting "me" back. I know that little girl, teenager, and woman who should have been... is in there somewhere. :) Thanks again.

  3. I guess my surprise is that most narcs. fight to be #1 and if they cannot be, end up divorcing. Narcs. usually like to marry people they can manipulate. The spouse is usually an enabler. Your parents situation is an interesting dynamic.

You are welcome Laurel. It takes a lot of work, but you certainly can heal from this. I did and I'm sure you can too. You sound strong, which is a good thing! :-)
