Narcissistic Parents - Control!

Narcissistic parents want to control their children's life.  They will not tolerate independent children.  Even as adults they want to control every facet of their children's life.  Who they marry, where they work, how many children they have, etc.  The list never ends!

 Is your parent always trying to tell you what to do under the guise of "knowing what is best for you?"

Narcissistic Parental - Traits!

Just because your parent is a narcissist, does NOT mean you are doomed to be narcissistic.  You may have some of the traits which are simply due to your childhood environment.  Here are just a few:
    
    being very negative
    no confidence or over-confidence
    become angered quickly
    have trouble with relationships
    low self-esteem

The good news is... that you can change, your parent can't!

 

Narcissistic Parents Brainwash Their Children

Narcissistic parents repeat the same negative messages over & over to their children.  This is done so that the parent is able to control the child.  The child eventually ends up with self-doubt, and believing the lies!  Running away will not solve the problem.

 

 The parent must be stood up to!  No you will never change their mind/opinion about you, but standing up to them is for you! (not them!) By standing up to them, you will begin to build your self-esteem and gain your freedom.  You will stop believing their lies.
